Life must be great for rashforf at the moment.
After his breakthrough season at Manchester United last year, the young forward has played his way back into the United team following an injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and he’ll be a crucial player in Jose Mourinho’s side as they go for Europa League glory this month.
And with Rashford’s increased importance and fame has come the opportunity to do some new commercial deals, something which he wouldn’t have factored in when he was dreaming of playing for United as a youngster growing up in Manchester.
So getting asked to front a campaign for Xbox Live which involves playing FIFA 17 must have been a big deal for him then. Only for two of his co-called “mates” to come along and ruin it.
The story goes like this.
As you can see above, Rashford is one of the faces of a new ad campaign in which he challenges another one of the faces – Chelsea star Willian – to a game of FIFA. In fact he doesn’t just challenge him, he says that he’s “taking names” and that Willian is the first name on that list.
Now Willian also has his own Instagram post up too, which you can see below, but the real story takes place back on Rashford’s account.
Because while Xbox and FIFA might think that the teenager is the perfect face to promote their brands, it seems that a couple of his teammates disagree.
Step forward the very cheeky Jesse Lingard and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who both found their way into Rashford’s comments section.
Ouch. Not sure that the Xbox and FIFA people would have appreciated that..
